We’ve just released SailPro Version 4.0, and this update is all about making racing more tactical on the water and more valuable after the finish.
Version 4.0 introduces two major enhancements:
Audible Laylines in RaceCourse
Race Trimming in RaceHub
Both features are designed to solve real problems sailors and race organisers deal with every week - whether that’s information overload during a race or messy, hard-to-follow replays afterward.
Audible Laylines: Tactical Awareness Without Screen Time
Laylines are critical tactical moments in any race, but they often require constant visual attention glancing down at instruments or screens when your focus should be on the boat, the breeze, and the fleet.
With SailPro V4.0, laylines now come to you.
Using your normal upwind and downwind layline settings for your boat, SailPro will:
Audibly call out when you reach a layline
Visually display the layline on the RaceCourse map
This allows you to sail with confidence while keeping your eyes outside the boat. You hear the moment you’ve reached a key tactical decision point, rather than having to constantly monitor a screen.
It’s a simple change, but one that significantly reduces workload during high-pressure moments — especially short-course racing, shorthanded sailing, or one-design fleets where timing is everything.
Race Trimming: Better RaceHub Replays, Less Noise
RaceHub has quickly become a powerful tool for live tracking and post-race review, but one challenge has always remained: not all recorded data is useful.
Pre-start sailing, delays, drifting while waiting for wind — these moments matter on the water, but they often clutter replays and make it harder to focus on the actual racing.
Race Trimming in SailPro V4.0 solves this.
Race organisers can now:
Trim completed races to remove unnecessary data
Focus replays on the actual race window
Create cleaner, more engaging experiences for post-race viewers
This is particularly valuable for:
Yacht clubs publishing race replays
Coaches reviewing performance with sailors
Competitors analysing starts, mark roundings, and fleet movement
The result is a more watchable, more useful race replay that highlights what really matters.
Designed From Real Sailing, Not Theory
Every SailPro update is shaped by real racing — club starts, crowded mark roundings, drifting postponements, and post-race debriefs where everyone wants clearer answers.
Version 4.0 continues that philosophy:
Less screen dependency on the water
Better clarity and storytelling after the race
These features aren’t about adding complexity. They’re about delivering the right information at the right moment.
